Mystery Medicine

July 26, 2012

The last several days I've committed to identifying some of my antique glass bottles, I have yet to solve the mystery on my medicine bottles with numbers screwed onto them, like addresses?!. Nevertheless I love them, and will never sell them, who knows they may be tomorrow's collectables. In the mean time it turns out I have some ol' liquor bottles from prohibition... score.

have time to write more later in this day...

Sweat Bees & This Sweet World

Well geez, a whole lot has happened since May 18th, and I'm sorry for such a prolonged gap in between blog posts. We are currently settled into "The Birk" and beginning to call Huntersville home, although I think we've only both been home a whole week since we moved in but that's what the summers are all about, at least in my family. Speaking of which Sunday night I got to pick up little Zackowski at the airport where he returned from his ONE MONTH trip to Taiwan. As uber jealous as I was I was still excited to see him and hear all about his amazing 25 day tour of "the south". I was expecting him to be really tan but as it turns out this tropical island is more of a rain forest environment. Huh?!

The living room is painted and it looks gorgeous, thanks to Timateo. I will post pictures sometime much  much later, when things are all unpacked and in their place. The job pursuit is still underway, status is pending but I will be sure to update the status as soon as I have one. Fourth of July was nice, I spent the morning Kayaking on the lake with friends (I love living so close to Norman!) but sadly I had to work at 3 o'clock so the morning was somewhat short lived. But don't worry, I was out there long enough to have a smidgen of a tan line and get stung by angry sweat bees trapped in my life jacket. Somewhat of a typical 4th of July for me anyhow. Hmmmm.

Saturday is Stephanie's wedding, I am super excited for her. I'll most likely be going alone but at least I'll know many people there so I can mingle on my own. It's going to be a gorgeous wedding, and Steph's going to make a gorgeous bride, pictures to come.

Speaking of pictures, my first wedding shots were a success. I knew I loved them, and felt good about them but it was a whole different ball game sending them off in the mail and anxiously waiting for the brides first words via text, email, phone... anything! Ah, it was nerve racking. Thankfully, technology was used to it's fullest potential, she was able to view all her photos on the discs I sent her and she loved them. WHAT a relief. You don't get that day back, just sayin'. The trip to Tennessee was pretty fun too, I got to take a break the Saturday morning before the wedding and go tubing down the river with the bride and groom's whole extended family, they pretty much adopted me and I felt very included haha... it was fun to be working, and feeling like I wasn't working... which is usually fun and usually the case!

The weather here in Charlotte has been nothing but hot and unbearable. We've had several days in the 103-105 range and biking outdoor has been entirely out of the question anytime after 11:30am. There are a few storms coming through and I am banking on the weather cooling off so I can go on a ride.

Mom and Hunter Bunter are in town for his summer orientation at UNC Charlotte. (Awe). It's really fun to see him do all the same things that I did three years ago, it kinda makes me want to relive it all over again... Entirely kidding but it is fun to see his whole experience start fresh.

Right now I can't keep my eyes open any longer, which is a good sign, I may slowly be converting to a morning person because 12:15pm used to be considered pretty early for me.

Good night sweet world.
