Where are the bikinis?

March 09, 2012

Alright so I've never been a huge fan of facebook for a million reasons aside from the fact that it's controlling us. Unfortunately I have a lot of "notes" stored in my facebook that have no other home so I have decided to gradually, one or two a day paste them into my blog that way this will be there new home and I can decide whether I really need a facebook after the fact. Phew!

Lily's Birthday was on Tuesday and while it was bold of me to make a cake for a culinary student it received her stamp of approval which I am happy to write about. I even shredded some orange zest into the batter with the new hand held grater that my mom bought for us! Win.

The lake was a blast, an epic weekend with the girls per usual. Pictures arriving shortly. Nick showed off his cheer extreme skills which none of us knew existed and Zoe gave up her I quit smoking 3 hours ago mentality. It was a relaxing weekend with a lot of cooking going on... cooking for that amount of people only gets better and better. Kelsey's Marine friends decided to drive down all the way from my very own Jacksonville, NC for one night of fun. They are all stationed at Camp Lejeune at the moment which is where I was born... funny to think about.

Needless to say they crashed "girls retreat" and brought their own little element to the weekend. Missy "thought they were Marines, not morons...." haha. Priceless. Regardless, I'm glad the morons got to escape their base for a little while and that Kels got to see her boy.

Things were slow at the store this week but there was plenty of catching up to do so I'm gonna say it was a good thing. Unpacking new Gaynors all day and cleaning up... the girls at Carolina Dance are really like my little family at this point in my life. I never thought that day in high school when I decided to apply there that I would still be there periodically now, as a senior in college. They surprised me yesterday with an early Birthday celebration in the office... they're just too much. Love 'em.

Tuesday night my dear friend Sara, her husband and I picked up a late dinner at Sticks & Stones, my very favorite pizza place probably ever. It was great to catch up with them, they are always an entertaining couple. Speaking of entertainment it was amusing how awful our waitress was but I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt and admit that I also, was the worst waitress in the world. Then Wednesday night I got to catch up with Christina bear whom I haven't seen since I left for England, uhg it was so nice to catch up. I think she's going to come down to Charlotte this weekend for the Birthday celebrations of 1402. :)

This weekend I'm in Crozet spending some time with Tim before heading back down to school Sunday. I busy week of work awaits me but I am looking forward to celebrating Birthday's with Lily Grace, it's sort of become a baby tradition. Sushi is usually in order.

This morning I had banana bread and Chai tea for breakfast... with the biggest walnuts you've ever seen in your life. More pictures later, my laptop's dying.

Plans are always in the making,

l'elefante petite.
